Before the Door is Closed
That very day Noah had gone into the boat with his wife and his sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and their wives. With them in the boat were pairs of every kind of animal—domestic and wild, large and small—along with birds of every kind. Two by two they came into the boat, representing every living thing that breathes. A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them. ~ Genesis 7:13-16 (NLT)
Reggie Dabbs, speaking passionately about Noah’s Ark, honed in on the fact that it was God Himself who closed the door on the Ark. That means, anyone rushing to the Ark after the rains came was locked out. No matter how much they screamed or begged or tried to claw their way on, the door was closed. It was too late.
Similarly, one day Jesus will come back. When He does, the door will be shut again. Anyone who has not accepted Him will not enter Heaven. No amount of screaming or begging will change that. What does that mean for you and I? Well, it means we have work to do? We must continue to share Christ, pray for the lost, and serve the Lord.
Because once the door is shut, it will be too late.
