My Problem + Christ = Victory
I want you to memorize this little equation: My problem + Christ = victory.
You may be losing battle after battle. Don’t lose heart. Christ has won the war. Victory awaits all those who trust in Christ!
Are you struggling to believe this? Read Paul’s prayer to the Ephesians. I pray that you will begin to understand the incredible greatness of his power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 1:19,20 NLT)
Paul says there is an incredibly great power that is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ. He says it is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead! Pause and think about that for a moment. Let it sink in. When you begin to truly experience Christ, you can also begin to experience the same power that raised Christ from the dead.
To the Philippians, Paul would also write, I can really know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. (Philippians 3:!0 NLT)
When you come to really know Christ, you can also experience what? Did you catch it here as well? You can experience the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead. That’s incredible!
Listen. If that power can raise the dead, it can overcome your anger, your guilt, your relationship problem, or whatever it is that seems dead to you. Take a look at one more Scripture, and let the truth of it sink deeply into your heart. Now glory be to God! By his mighty power at work within us, he is able to accomplish infinitely more than we would ever dare to ask or hope. (Ephesians 3:20 NLT)
Where do you need Christ’s power to go to work? Where do you need to see God do infinitely more than you can ask or imagine?
The pastor I had growing up once said something I will never forget. He said, “You may be tempted to think that Christ came to make the bad, good, or to make the good, better. But don’t believe it. Christ came to make dead people live again.”
We were all dead in our sins, but Christ came to give us new life. Each of us has dead things in our lives, but Christ came to deal with all of it.
As a Christian, you should believe that Christ has risen from the dead. Do you also believe that Christ wants to raise the dead in you? He greatly desires to go to work in your life. Don’t let the thoughts of insufficiency, in yourself or in others, keep you from the One who alone has the power to raise the dead. Give Him your dead things. Give Him your life. Let Him begin to go to work in ways you never dreamed possible.
Hear Jesus say, “Just trust Me.” Come to Him and receive His power. This power will not split your shirt when you flex. No, it is much better than that. It can do infinitely more than you can ask or imagine to the dead things in your life.
